Freedom Art Studios By Zachary Doeren

 

Freedom Arts Studios, located in beautiful Big Bear Lake, California was founded by the late Zachary Doeren in 2023.  Zach passed away unexpectedly in October of 2024.  To honor on his legacy, we are proud to announce that we are keeping his beloved shop open and striving to carry out the aspirations of our beloved son.

Zach first came to Big Bear in 2013 at the age of 19… He fell in love with California and chainsaw carving and decided to stay and pursue his dreams of making a living as a chainsaw artist. He spent several years carving for various shops in the Big Bear area and in 2023 he took a leap of faith and opened up his own business - Freedom Art Studios - where he worked tirelessly to create beautiful sculptures, improve his artistry and skill and contribute to the community around him.

“What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?”  

This was one of Zach’s favorite quotes by Vincent Van Gogh…  and a motto he lived by.  We will strive to honor his legacy by continuing the work he started in Big Bear and live out the wonderful qualities that he exemplified.
